Key benefits of seeing an Endodontist

Specialist expertise in saving teeth

Endodontists are dentists who complete 2–3 additional years of specialist training focused entirely on diagnosing tooth pain and performing root canal and related procedures. They handle complex anatomy, difficult infections, and retreatments that general dentists may not routinely manage.

Higher success rates for root canal treatment

Because they perform thousands of root canal procedures each year, endodontists achieve consistently higher long‑term success rates, especially in challenging cases such as:

  • Curved or narrow canals
  • Previously treated teeth that have failed
  • Teeth with deep infection or hidden canals

Advanced technology for more accurate treatment

Endodontists typically use:

  • Operating microscopes for enhanced visibility
  • 3D CBCT imaging for precise diagnosis
  • Ultrasonic instruments for delicate cleaning
  • Modern irrigation systems to eliminate bacteria more effectively

This technology improves accuracy, comfort, and outcomes.

Preservation of your natural tooth

Keeping your natural tooth — when possible — is almost always the best option for:

  • Chewing efficiency
  • Jawbone health
  • Bite stability
  • Long-term comfort

Endodontists specialise in doing exactly that.
